In Tribute to Robin Masefield CBE

Robin Masefield CBE

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Robin Masefield. It was over 10 years ago that Robin first approached Christopher Kenny with great enthusiasm to assist with the early days of the Result Project. His support was invaluable as he lent his great expertise and wisdom to the project, and helped establish many connections with the wider heritage community over the years that followed.

Robin was a founder member of Ulster Maritime Heritage and represented Northern Ireland on the National Historic Ships UK Council of Experts. Outside of maritime heritage he was a trustee in a number of charities, and published several books on local history.

The Directors of the Carrickfergus Tall Ship Project extend their sympathies to his family. Robin's encouragement and passion continues to influence our project to this day and he will be greatly missed.
